  Canadian Champion since 1981 and a consistently excellent international performer, he has thrilled and delighted skating enthusiasts around the world with his brilliant displays of polished athletic control and spellbinding choreography. In addition to winning two Olympic silver medals and a number of other important international events, he was only the third Canadian to capture the men's Singles Gold Medal in the 77-year history of the World Championships. (This is a promotion within the Order).

  Since first winning the Canadian Junior Figure Skating Championship at the age of nine, he has gone on to win five Canadian Men's Singles Championships. In 1984 his excellence as a free skater resulted in his winning both the World Championship and a silver medal at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics.
