Navigating officer and master mariner from 1936 to 1957, he has worked since then as a pilot on the St. Lawrence River. As co-founder of the Federation of St-Lawrence River Pilots and founding president of the Corporation of the Lower St. Lawrence Pilots, he has helped St. Lawrence piloting become better organized. He is actively contributing to the development of the Bernier Maritime Museum in Islet-sur-mer.
