Eminent historian and professor emeritus at the University of Ottawa, Marcel Trudel continues to make exceptional contributions to advance our knowledge of Quebec and Canadian history. This extraordinary scholar has examined history very closely in his analyses. His written works, characterized by their scientific rigor and wealth of documentation, have made an essential contribution to changing our perspective regarding the history of New France and have contributed to French Canadian historiography. An outstanding educator, he is still a mentor to many and a role model for the generations of historians he has taught.
