He has captured and recorded diverse ways of life on film and in print. A well-known journalist and author, he has used his creativity to draw public attention to social issues, engendering compassion through mutual understanding and giving voice to the concerns of his subjects. In his book, People of Terra Nullius: Betrayal and Rebirth in Aboriginal Canada, he offers us a poignant portrayal of the effect of progress on the Cree hunter. Researcher, writer and narrator of many National Film Board productions, he has taught us that values can be shared and the differences which make us unique become cause for celebration.
