Ellis Jacob is a business executive and philanthropist. As president and CEO of Cineplex Entertainment, he has established a strong Canadian movie theatre industry, employing thousands of people in Canada and bringing the theatre experience to mid-size communities that were previously not served. He has also contributed to the Toronto International Film Festival in numerous roles, notably as a member of its board of directors. In addition, he helps in the leadership of the Baycrest Centre for Geriatrics, the Baycrest Foundation and Mount Sinai Hospital.
