For over five decades, Marian Packham has been advancing medical research in Canada. A professor at the University of Toronto, she was a highly cited scientist at a time when there were few women in biomedicine. She is known for her contributions to the study of blood platelets, notably for her research on blood clotting, which led to critical breakthroughs in the prevention of strokes and heart attacks. Recently, she has penned books documenting major figures and events in Canadian medical history from an insider's perspective.
