From June 2018 to June 2019, Colonel Peckham was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, as the medical liaison officer for the Canadian Ministerial Liaison Team and, subsequently, with the Directorate of Influence and Information. He worked tirelessly, planning and implementing strategic processes and leading the creation of the Iraqi Inter-Ministerial Medical Committee, which enabled the standardization of medical qualifications. Colonel Peckham’s engagement and dedication influenced collaboration between Kurdish and Iraqi medical authorities, setting the example for an inclusive Iraq, which reflected greatly on Canada’s contribution.
