    In 2002, Ben Peterson and Alexandra Sicotte-Lévesque created Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) to build the capacity of African media to report objectively and effectively on human rights issues. JHR has since worked in 23 countries, including Canada, and has trained more than 13 000 journalists and students to cover human rights stories and governance issues in their communities.
