Storyteller Alan Melanson brings the history of Annapolis Royal to life for countless tourists each year. Creator of the Candlelight Graveyard Tour, he leads his lantern-carrying audience through a cemetery while interweaving tales of the town’s Mi’kmaq, Acadian, Planter, United Empire Loyalist and African-Canadian former residents. For more than a quarter century, the tour has been a highlight for visitors to the region and has earned him the unofficial title of heritage ambassador.
