During Operation ANACONDA in South East Afghanistan, Master Corporal Perry was air assaulted into the Shahi-Khot valley as part of the alternate Task Force Tactical Command Post, 2nd Battalion, 187 Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne. From March 2 through 11, 2002, he operated his sniper team from the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Battle Group through extreme weather conditions. Master Corporal Perry demonstrated impressive professionalism and dedication to duty through his valiant conduct while under direct and indirect fire and his actions helped ensure the success of the mission.
