Rank: Private
Private Leblanc was a member of the infantry section deployed during operations to establish a buffer zone between Croatian and Serbian forces in the Medak Pocket, Croatia. The section came under accurate, aimed Croatian fire on September 15, 1993. As one of two section light machine gunners, he became involved in five fire-fights, impressing his fellow soldiers with his calm and methodical reaction under fire, as he followed his section commander's fire control orders. His actions directly contributed to the rapid suppression of the Croatian attack and, therefore, to the success of the operation.
