On October 4, 2011, Daniel Morrison rescued a co-worker who was being attacked by a black bear, in a remote location, near Wabikon Lake, Ontario. Mr. Morrison fought off the bear using only a hunting knife. Although the bear remained in the vicinity, Mr. Morrison tended to the victim's wounds and stayed with her until help arrived two hours later.
