Constable Mansoor Ahmad, M.B.
Medal of bravery
On February 4, 2009, Toronto Police Constable Mansoor Ahmad risked his life to stop a speeding car on the Don Valley Parkway, in Toronto, Ontario. Alerted to the scene, Constable Ahmad pulled up beside the vehicle, which was swerving erratically and smashing into cement barriers. Constable Ahmad drove ahead and let the vehicle hit his own cruiser in an effort to slow it down. He was then able to guide it to a stop at the side of the road, where he found the driver unconscious, with his foot still on the accelerator. The victim had suffered a seizure, but thanks to Constable Ahmad's quick thinking, he received the appropriate care needed and no other travellers were injured.
