Medal of Bravery
Forced to fight their way through a blazing entranceway, volunteer firefighters Price and Wells rescued a man from a burning house on the Seabird Indian Reserve near Agassiz, British Columbia, on April 25, 1992. Equipped with oxygen masks, they made their way upstairs through falling debris. Suddenly, Mr. Price fell waist-high through the floor. Mr. Wells pulled him out and, hearing screams from the basement, they both went back down through the smoke and flames and found the victim. Although Mr. Price was running out of air, he remained to help Mr. Wells pull the casualty up the stairs, where other firefighters assisted in bringing the man to safety.
