On 6 September 1978, Peter Zroback disarmed a man on a shooting spree. Mr. Zroback, on his way in the town, came face to face with the nineteen-year-old man who had just fired at several motorists and threatened the lives of others. He now pointed his rifle at Mr. Zroback who, rather than backing away, offered him a cigarette. When the man reached for it, Mr. Zroback seized the gun at the risk of his own life. The man then fled but was arrested shortly afterwards.
