Medal of Bravery
On January 7, 1988, in St. Pie, Quebec, Claude Hébert and Constant Tétreault, both in their twenties, risked their lives to rescue a young woman who was injured and trapped in her burning vehicle. Fearing an explosion, Mr. Hébert and Mr. Tétreault approached the victim, but the heat forced them back. They made another attempt and managed to unfasten the young woman's seat belt, pulled her out and placed her by the car. Then, while Mr. Hébert dragged her to a safe spot, Mr. Tétreault put out the flames on the young woman's legs.
