Blazon

Gules on an island an oak tree fructed between dexter one oak sapling and sinister two oak saplings in chief a coronet érablé in chevron with on either side two single lens reflex camera affronty all Or;

Symbolism

The red represents the soil of His Honour’s native province, Prince Edward Island. The gold alludes to the wealth of the land and the Island’s natural heritage. The oak tree represents His Honour and the three saplings refer to his children. The oak trees echo the shield of arms for Prince Edward Island and are a tribute to His Honour’s service as Minister of the Environment for over ten years. The maple leaf coronet symbolizes His Honour’s service as Lieutenant-Governor. The cameras stand for His Honour’s interest and skill in photography.

Symbolism

The mural coronet is a reference to the triple towered castle found in the arms of the Chief of the Clan MacLeod and celebrates Her Honour’s family, the MacLures, who are a sept of this clan. The five oak leaves symbolize His Honour’s grandchildren and echo the oak trees in the shield. The lion represents His Honour’s determined spirit of public service and is also taken from the English arms associated with the name Clement. The fly fishing rod symbolizes His Honour’s passion for this sport.

On a mound Vert set with ladyslippers proper rising above barry wavy of four Argent and Azure on either side an English setter Or gorged with a collar chequy Azure and Argent pendant therefrom a torteau charged with a representation of the Mace of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island Or;

Symbolism

The English setters are His Honour’s favourite dog. Their bands of blue and white checks are a reference to the Chief of the Stewarts and pays homage to His Honour’s maternal heritage. The medallions featuring a mace represent His Honour’s service in the Legislative Assembly. The English setters stand on a grassy mound with Ladyslippers flowers indicating the fields, meadows and gardens throughout the Island. The blue and white wavy bars refer to the rivers where His Honour’s has spent time practicing his sport and the Island’s seashores.
