The gold band and maple leaves distinguish these arms as Canadian in reference to Mr. Zobrist’s having immigrated to this country in the 1950s. |
CrestBlazonA demi griffin Gules langued armed and winged Argent grasping in the dexter foreclaw a maple leaf Gules; SymbolismThe griffin is made distinct by the red, one of Canada’s official national colours. Its wings are in white in reference to Mr. Zobrist’s career as an engineer with Alcan, a major aluminium company. The maple leaf is another reference to Mr. Zobrist’s Canadian identity. |
