Arms of Misa MarkovicBlazonPer bend Gules and Azure a cross each limb terminating in a fire-steel Or and within a wreath of oak leaves Argent; SymbolismBlue alludes to the sky and, consequently, Mr. Markovic’s interest in aviation as a licensed pilot. Red and white represent Canada, while the combination of the three colours recall those of Serbia, Mr. Markovic’s ancestral home. The cross honours his Orthodox Christian faith. The firesteels are taken from the arms of Serbia, while also evoking his father’s work as a blacksmith. The oak leaves are another symbol of Serbia, while their shape in a wreath refers to Mr. Markovic’s academic achievements. |
CrestBlazonAn eagle wings elevated and addorsed Argent beaked and membered Azure holding in its talons a plum branch proper; SymbolismThe eagle and the plums are symbols commonly associated with Serbia. The plums also symbolize wealth and prosperity, and thus Mr. Markovic’s profession as a mortgage broker. Moreover, as allusions to the expression “the fruits of one’s labours,” they further evoke Mr. Markovic’s role as an officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he instructs cadets. |
