Arms of Alain Louis Joseph LaurencelleBlazonBarry Azure and Vert a wheel Or charged with a Holstein ox’s head caboshed proper and between three crosses couped Argent; SymbolismBlue and green represent the aurora borealis and the sky of Manitoba, Mr. Laurencelle’s province of birth and residence. The wheel alludes to the Red River cart, an important element of the settlement of Manitoba. The ox represents endurance, strength of spirit, hard work, and tenacity, qualities which were crucial to Mr. Laurencelle’s ancestors who worked as farmers and labourers in French Manitoba. The crosses symbolize the family’s Christian faith. |
