Badge of 32 Signal RegimentBlazonAzure an owl stooping affronty Argent legged Or between in base two roses Argent barbed and seeded proper, all within the Communications Squadron badge frame (An annulus Azure edged Or charged in chief with a billet fesswise Azure edged, inscribed with the unit’s number and between the words REGIMENT and RÉGIMENT, charged in base with three maple leaves between two lightning flashes Or, all ensigned by the Royal Crown proper and above a scroll Or inscribed with the Motto in letters Sable); SymbolismBlue and white (representing the colour French Grey) are the colours of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. The owl reflects the idea of the Motto, while the white roses are a symbol of York, the original name of Toronto, the location of the regiment. The owl alludes to the badge of the 700 Communication Squadron, while the white roses are taken from that of the 709 Communication Regiment, the two units that amalgamated to form the 32 Signal Regiment. |
