Arms of Eric RicherBlazonQuarterly Purpure and Argent five spearheads their points conjoined in fess point issuant therefrom in the 1st and 2nd quarters a fleur-de-lis slipped and leaved, all counterchanged; SymbolismThe central figure, a cross between a maple leaf and a fleur-de-lis, demonstrates Mr. Richer’s attachment to his country, Canada, and at the same time to the province of his birth, Quebec. This figure is composed of an arrangement of spearheads, the foremost part of the weapon. As apexes, the spearheads represent the leadership role Mr. Richer has played in several organizations. The colours indicate his main character traits and aspirations, purple symbolizing for him dignity and strength, and white, freedom and humility. The use of alternating colours represents the values of harmony and reciprocity. |
CrestBlazonA lion passant guardant triple-queued Purpure semé of ermine spots and holding a Celtic cross Argent; SymbolismThe lion, a traditional symbol of strength and courage, refers to Mr. Richer’s attachment to Canadian institutions. It also alludes to the name of a branch of his family, Lyons. The three tails represent his children. The Celtic cross honours the Irish origins of his maternal ancestors. |
