Arms of Donna Rae Barraclough LittleBlazonAzure a leafy seadragon Or, its tail environing a plate, between six mullets of seven points Argent, on a chief wavy Gules edged Argent an infinity symbol between two Loyalist civil coronets Or; SymbolismThe colours symbolize Ms. Little’s cultural heritage in Scotland and England and her service to Canada. The leafy seadragon alludes to her birthplace in Australia, these being unique to local waters. The seven-pointed stars are from the Australian flag. The Loyalist civil coronets represent her two children and her connection to Samuel Aikens, their United Empire Loyalist immigrant ancestor who settled in Nova Scotia in 1784. The white disc represents a pearl, symbolic of new beginnings, and which is often associated with dragons in the Orient. The infinity symbol evokes the limitless and never-ending possibilities of life. |
