Arms of Elaine Astrid NyeBlazonVert a bar potenty in base enhanced between in chief an escallop between two open books and in base a mullet of seven points Argent; SymbolismThe star alludes to the seven gifts identified in Romans 12:6-8, several of which Mrs. Nye exemplifies in being a facilitator, administrator and care-giver. The lower edge of the chief illustrates places at a table and thus symbolizes the service of Mrs. Nye on boards of directors of several organizations. The shell represents a pilgrimage made by Dr. and Mrs. Nye to the Holy Land. The books represent their two sons, and also allude to Mrs. Nye’s experiences in teaching in schools and church. |
