The orle of pearls, a symbol of beauty and humanity, represents the people around us or whom we meet in the course of family, professional or social life, who make life more beautiful. The white admiral butterfly is the insect of Quebec, chosen in 1998 following public consultations by the Montreal Botanical Garden. It is a symbol of change and metamorphosis and also evokes the “butterfly effect” and the fact that a small act of kindness can open hearts. |

Travelling great distances with a flawless sense of direction and endurance, they symbolize strength, courage and commitment to an absolute ideal. The ankhs in the crown, also known as the key of life, symbolize the infinite vital force. They are set alongside compasses, which represent the quest for a just measure in all, the mantra of Ms. Parent’s spouse, François Desrochers. The low wall of stone recalls the Beauport stone quarry, once owned by the Parent family, who operated it for over two centuries. |
