Arms of Peter William HoganBlazonLozengy Argent and Azure charged with Saxon coronets Or, on a fess Gules a lion passant Or holding a helm Argent; SymbolismThe lozenges are symbolic of the crystal structure of diamonds, reflecting Mr. Hogan’s interest in gemmology. As a shape traditionally associated in Europe with the use of heraldry by women, the lozenges also honour the women in his ancestry. The gold lion on red holding a helmet has appeared in other Irish Hogan arms and honours his paternal ancestry. |

The coronet of fleurs-de-lis and the flory sceptre refer to the fact that Mr. Hogan was born and has lived much of his life in the province of Quebec. |
