The unicorn is his favourite mythical animal and symbolizes his Scottish heritage; for Dr. Noakes, it also denotes courage and virtue. The beaver suggests hard work and perseverance, and represents Dr. Noakes’ engineering career. The quill honours his accomplishments as a scholar and as an author of educational materials. |
