Arms for use by the Direction des normes professionnellesBlazonVert a chevron reversed Or between in chief a unicorn’s head and in base three fleurs-de-lis Argent; SymbolismGreen and yellow are the colours of the Sûreté du Québec and recall the unwavering commitment of the staff to the organization. White is a colour of purity and yellow a colour of wisdom. The chevron alludes to the letter “V”, the first letter of the French word “vérité” (“truth”), an idea at the heart of the directorate’s activities. The unicorn’s head is a symbol of honesty and leadership, the directorate being responsible for showing the way to the highest professional standards. The fleurs-de-lis are at the symbol of both the Sûreté and of Quebec. |
