The use of the provincial flag indicates that the officials of the provincial government work with the Association and that the Association’s members serve throughout the province.

Blue is a colour traditionally associated with policing. Blue and yellow are colours which figure prominently in the coat of arms of British Columbia. The wavy stripe in the centre represents the waters of the rivers and the ocean which are a major geographic feature for all the communities served by the forces whose chiefs make up the Association. As well, it divides the field in two parts representing the Association’s members from mainland British Columbia and Vancouver Island. The wreath of maple leaves and dogwood flowers symbolizes the Canadian and British Columbian character of the Association. The Royal Crown represents the fact that the member forces represented by the Association play a key role in guarding the Crown’s peace.
