Gules issuant from the base a sun in splendour Or charged with an island bearing dexter three oak saplings and sinister an oak tree fructed proper above barry wavy Or and Gules;

Symbolism

The sun and the wavy bars recall summer and waves, thus alluding to the ship’s name. The island and the oak trees are found in the arms of Prince Edward Island, where the city of Summerside is located.
