Blazon

Per chevron Vert and Or the apex terminating in a Celtic cross, overall a pale, in chief two maple leaves and in base a fleur-de-lis, all counterchanged;

Symbolism

The three vertical bands represent the geographic location of Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, a self-governing municipality located between the cities of Shawinigan and Trois-Rivières. Their subdivision into six parts of alternating colours, green and gold, illustrates the importance of agriculture in the municipality’s history. The division line forming a mountain visually represents Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel. The cross, symbolizing the municipality’s Catholic heritage, refers to the cross erected on the mountain. The fleur-de-lis and the maple leaves situate the municipality in Quebec and Canada, respectively.

The passenger pigeon, once quite common in the area, notably on nearby Île-aux-Tourtes, symbolizes the municipality’s duty to remember and its concern for preserving its territory for future generations.
