Arms of Holy Trinity Anglican Church

Blazon

Argent a cross patté Gules fleuretté Azure fitché and enfiling a mural crown also Azure charged with a barrulet wavy Argent surmounted by a maple leaf Gules;

Symbolism

The white and red colours reflect both Anglicanism and Canada. On the ceiling of the church’s chancel and sanctuary are painted red crosses patty and blue fleurs-de-lis. The crosses are indicative both of the Christian faith and Anglicanism, while their splayed ends suggest openness and outreach. The lower arm is pointed to suggest the planting of faith in north Chatham. The fleur-de-lis endings represent the doctrine of the Trinity and thus the title of the parish. The crown of masonry, a traditional municipal symbol, refers to Chatham. The wavy stripe refers to the River Thames and the maple leaf alludes to the fact that Chatham is known as the Maple City.
