The oak leaves are in honour of the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon who has an oak tree in one of his crests. Each oak leaf has a small chevron cap to represent the roofs of houses and the municipal identity of Brandon. |
CrestBlazonOn a rock Sable a salamander Vert enflamed proper; SymbolismThe crest is based on the other one of the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon, a salamander in its customary flames. Here, it is coloured green and lies on a rock. This combination alludes to the location of the city near the Assiniboine river, the name of which refers to the use of hot rocks for cooking. |

The coronets allude to the dignity of a Duke and the oak leaf and chevron are taken from the arms design. |
Badge of the Police Service of The City of BrandonBlazonThe shield of the Arms of The City of Brandon within an annulus Azure edged and inscribed COMMUNITY FIRST in letters Or, all within a wreath of maple leaves Or issuant from a crocus flower, the whole ensigned by the Royal Crown proper; SymbolismThis design structure is for police forces engaged in enforcing the peace under the Crown. The badge indicates by the provincial flower that it serves in Manitoba in the Dominion of Canada, and by the scalloped top that it is a police service. |
