Arms of the Municipalité de Stanbridge East

Blazon

Vert on a chevron Argent between in chief a sun in splendour issuant from the chevron and in base four escallops in cross their bases inward Or, a chevronnel Vert;

Symbolism

Green and gold are the colours of the community of Stanbridge. The chevron is found in the arms of the Stanbridge family of County Essex, Great Britain and in the arms of the Rice family. The chevron also alludes to the Pinnacle, which dominates the horizon east of Stanbridge. Its colours refer to the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the Green Mountains of Vermont, where the original settlers came from in the 1790s. The shells, which are also found in the Stanbridge family arms, represent the four hamlets within Stanbridge township: Riceburg, Puddledock, Beartown and the Ridge. The sun represents the Village of Stanbridge East.

Dexter a bear Sable, sinister a Holstein calf proper, each holding a maple leaf Gules charged with a fleur-de-lis Argent and standing on the Riceburg Bridge proper above barry wavy Azure and Argent between meadows set with plants of corn, asparagus and strawberries proper;

Symbolism

The bear is an allusion to the hamlet of Beartown. The calf refers to the agricultural nature of the community. The maple leaves and fleurs-de-lis indicate that Stanbridge is part of Quebec within Canada. The ridge represents Stanbridge Ridge. The river refers to Puddledock, and the bridge resembles the one at Riceburg over the Pike River.
