The red bend alludes to his mother, it being borrowed from the arms of her hometown of Fontaine-L’Évêque, Belgium. The cinquefoils allude to his wife, a Hamilton, the charges borrowed from the arms of the Duke of Hamilton and Gordon. |
CrestBlazonIssuant from a coronet treflé Or a demi-dragon Gules holding in its dexter claw a sword Argent and gorged of a chain pendent therefrom a Tryzub Or; SymbolismThe coronet alludes to his grandmother, the coronet appearing in the arms of her hometown of Jarowslaw, Poland. The red dragon is a mythical creature of interest to Capt. Hrycajkiw. The sword represents his military career, and the Tryzub his Ukrainian heritage. |

This alludes to Captain Hrycajkiw’s occupational duties in logistics. The swords symbolize his military occupation, and the red and white tinctures represent the Canadian Forces in which he serves. |
