The unicorn’s head alludes to the Toronto Scottish Regiment, which he now commands and the regimental badge of which shows such a head. The three gold stripes symbolize three ideas, of military rank, of an agrarian family origin in the form of ploughed rows, and of strings of bows to represent English longbows. |
