Arms of The Diocesan Church Society of the Anglican Catholic Church of CanadaBlazonArgent a cross Gules between four Maltese crosses Azure; SymbolismThe red cross on white is the emblem of St. George, often associated with Anglicanism and therefore an indication of the Anglican Catholic Church of Canada’s adherence to traditional Anglican worship and doctrine. The Maltese cross alludes to St. John the Baptist, the patron saint of Canada in the Anglican calendar. |
MottoBlazonUSQUE AD TERMINOS ORBIS TERRARUM; SymbolismMeaning “To the ends of the earth”, this Latin sentence is from Psalm 72:8 in the Vulgate Bible (Ps. 72 in the English Bible). It refers to the catholicity of the Church, and since the first part of the verse, “He shall have dominion also from sea to sea”, is the source of the motto of Canada, it alludes to the Anglican Catholic Church’s jurisdiction in Canada. |
