Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, participated in a dialogue with new parliamentarians as well as with new senators appointed in 2019. The event was organized by the Parliamentary Centre and Carleton University.
EngageParlDiplo was established in 2011 to provide a welcome orientation to newly elected MPs and to newly arrived diplomats and to provide policy panels to both communities. Formerly the Carleton Initiative for Parliamentary and Diplomatic Engagement, this initiative is now led by the Parliamentary Centre, the leading non-governmental, non-partisan organization dedicated to the strengthening of parliamentary democracy in Canada and around the world, in partnership with Carleton University.
