Glide into history on the Rideau Hall Rink!
Dating back to 1872, the skating rink has hosted generations of skaters and shaped the culture of winter sports in Canada. Women’s hockey traces its roots back to Rideau Hall, as the first known image of women playing the sport was taken here in the early 1890s. Rideau Hall is pleased to welcome the public to continue the tradition of skating at the Residence of the Governor General.
Don’t miss the Winter Pavilion, a restored heritage building where you can warm up and lace up your skates. See this historic place for yourself while skating with family and friends this winter!
