Message from the Governor General of Canada
on the Occasion of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day
OTTAWA— It gives me great pleasure to extend greetings to everyone taking part in activities marking Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day today.
French-Canadian culture—so rich and diverse—is a vibrant part of so many communities from one end of the country to the other. The people of Quebec and Francophones all across Canada can be proud to celebrate the history, culture and identity they have shared for over 400 years. On June 24, let us celebrate in word and song, and may friendship and high spirits fill the air!
I wish you all a memorable Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day.
