Message from His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, on the Death of the Honourable Helen Hunley

OTTAWA—My wife, Sharon, and I were saddened by the recent passing of the Honourable Helen Hunley, former lieutenant governor of Alberta.

As the province’s first female lieutenant governor, Helen Hunley served the people of Alberta with unwavering devotion, dedicating herself to meeting the needs of her constituents. Her contributions to the community of Rocky Mountain House and to all of Alberta will serve as a lasting legacy of her loyalty to the province and to the Crown.

On behalf of all Canadians, I offer my deepest condolences to the friends and family of Helen Hunley.
