Today, I would like to pay tribute to Ed Broadbent, former leader of the New Democratic Party and founder of the Broadbent Institute.

The tributes that came this evening from other political parties, past and present, are surely the best testament to his commitment, love, and determination for a better and stronger Canada. I had the pleasure of working alongside Mr. Broadbent during First Ministers’ conferences on the constitution where he demonstrated his commitment and understanding with regard to challenges faced by Inuit, First Nation and Metis.

To his friends, family and loved ones, Whit and I would like to extend our sincerest condolences.
