Maia Welbourne joined the OSGG as assistant secretary, an assistant deputy minister role, in December 2022.

In her more than 25 years as a federal public servant, she has worked at a number of different organizations, including most recently the Privy Council Office, within the Health Canada portfolio, Canadian Heritage, and Environment and Climate Change Canada. Maia also worked for 10 years at Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, from 2006 to 2016.

Maia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
