April 13, 2022
This morning, Her Excellency attended an event at the Canada Reception Centre in Ottawa in support of the Invictus Games. Team Canada will compete in the 2020 Games, taking place 16–22 April 2022, in The Hague, Netherlands. The original games in 2020 were postponed due to the pandemic.
Team Canada will be represented by 28 competitors at the Invictus Games The Hague 2020, including active members and veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, each of whom acquired an illness or a physical or mental health injury while in service to Canada. Team Canada will participate alongside more than 500 competitors from 17 countries and will compete in all nine sports throughout the course of the Games. The goal of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 is to improve the lives of ill and injured armed forces members, veterans, and their families, through sport.
Team Canada’s participation is made possible through the Canadian Armed Forces’ Soldier On program.
