Frances Sweetland became a unit leader with Girl Guides of Canada at age 18; 70 years later, she is still involved in weekly meetings, program and event planning, and cookie campaigns, and has served as the area’s district commissioner and deputy district commissioner. She is currently the secretary of the Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Auxiliary and organizes donor clinics for Canadian Blood Services.
