Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
A retired nurse and university professor, Doris Custeau has worked all her life to improve community services. For more than 25 years, she has participated as a volunteer in numerous professional associations such as the Association de santé publique du Québec. She has also worked for many years in various organizations such as the Association Entraide Ville-Marie, the Carrefour Humanisation-Santé, the St. John Ambulance Association and the Canadian Red Cross Society. Since 1993, Mrs. Custeau has also organized cultural and social excursions for the Club du Personnel retraité of Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montréal.
