Ernest Craik, Kenora, Ontario
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Ernest Craik is dedicated to bringing comfort to people in need of assistance. Church treasurer for more than twenty-five years, and volunteer caretaker, he has also been actively involved with the Agape Table, Kenora's soup kitchen, for many years. In addition, he frequently visits patients in the local hospital and nursing homes, assisting them with meals, reading to them, writing letters for them, or just lending a friendly ear. However, Mr. Craik is perhaps best known for his advocacy on behalf of injured and disabled workers.
