Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Yolande Connors' dedication, compassion and caring have enriched the lives of many Kingston area residents. For the past ten years, she has devoted a few days a week to the long-term and palliative care patients at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital, where she founded a group focussing on the needs of patients with Alzheimer's disease. She is also a volunteer Community Food Advisor for the Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Health Unit. In addition, Mrs. Connors worked at Kingston's Hotel Dieu Hospital for many years, and recently co-chaired a Wren reunion that attracted hundreds of people to the Kingston area.
