Robert Cranley, Port Hope, Ont.
Governor General's Caring Canadian Award
Even as a student at Port Hope High School, Robert Cranley was involved in a myriad of community activities, ranging from Students Against Impaired Driving to fundraising events, food drives and a disaster relief fund for the residents of Eastern Ontario and Quebec during the 1998 Ice Storm. He has long participated in the Terry Fox Run and continues to serve his community by volunteering as an ambulance attendant, firefighter and coordinator of the Arson Prevention Program for children.
