Governor General's Caring Canadian Award

Bruce and Marion Walker work relentlessly to assist people in need within their community of approximately 1,400 families, including children who are underprivileged or disabled, senior citizens and people who are ill. They helped establish the local Royal Canadian Legion in 1984 and have since been involved in many Legion activities and committees, including visiting people who are sick or hospitalized. Among numerous other volunteer activities, they have been actively involved with the Senior Citizens Outreach Program, the Therapeutic Riding Association and their church.
